Gossen, Jain Team up via Manufacturing, Technology Agreement

MILWAUKEE, WI -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 1, 2007 -- Gossen Corp. and Jain Irrigation Systems,
Ltd., have agreed to build upon their core competencies through an
exclusive manufacturing and technology agreement that will allow Gossen to
add PVC sheets and panels to its product mix and allow Jain to add profiles
to its building materials product offering.
The arrangement, which the companies jointly announced today, gives both
companies a broader access to global markets.
Jain, a major Asian-based manufacturer, will produce home-construction PVC
panels for Milwaukee's Gossen Corp. and, in turn, Gossen will produce PVC moulding for Jain Irrigation Systems, Ltd.
"Gossen is a proven innovator and an extremely efficient producer of the
mouldings and profiles our customers need to complement the Jain line,"
said Anil Jain, managing director of Jain Irrigation Systems.
Gossen gains access to Jain's worldwide raw material sourcing power.
"Jain's technical expertise and scale of operations as one of the world's
largest producers of cellular PVC
panels was a factor in choosing Jain as our strategic partner," said
Bob Simon, executive vice president of Gossen Corp. "Jain's many years of
experience in PVC sheet extrusion and its success worldwide was a deciding
factor. We believe this manufacturing and technology agreement will have a
very positive impact for our mutual customers in the markets we serve."
PVC panels and sheets are sold to the building industry for multiple
exterior uses. While they are manufactured in 4x20-foot dimensions, the
panels are ripped into boards and can be processed into various patterns
and trim.
Home builders use PVC mouldings and trimboards for their lifecycle
advantage. PVC products are highly resistant to moisture and severe
weather, such as hurricane-level winds, and offer homeowners the advantage
of extremely low maintenance. Cellular PVC products also are used by the
window and door industry in new construction and replacement markets.
