Neoware Extends Linux Thin Client Leadership with Latest Release

Next-generation Open Source OS for Thin Clients Enhances Security and Provides PC-Like Experience to End Users

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., Feb. 14, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Neoware, Inc. (Nasdaq:NWRE), which ships more Linux-based thin clients than any other vendor, announces the release of NeoLinux 4.0, the next generation of Neoware's embedded open source operating system.

Enhancing security and delivering easier, more flexible integration and management, NeoLinux 4.0 also incorporates improved support for wireless and peripherals. NeoLinux 4.0 provides IT professionals with a robust, best-in-class thin client operating system. Featuring an optional, easy-to-use PC-style user interface, NeoLinux 4.0 is at once familiar and accessible, simplifying end user training needs and encouraging the broader adoption of Linux-based thin clients within an organization.

"The NeoLinux 4.0 interface offers the best of both worlds -- the strong, reliable controls that Linux IT professionals expect, and an available PC-like experience that's familiar and friendly for new enterprise users of Linux-based thin clients," explains Matt Wrabley, Neoware's Executive Vice President, Marketing. "Beneath that interface lies a more secure, more flexible thin client operating system with better peripheral support and the most up-to-date Citrix(r) access to Microsoft(r) Windows(r) applications."

Making its debut Feb. 14-15 at the LinuxWorld Open Solutions Summit in New York City, NeoLinux 4.0 will be available for attendees to experience directly via Neoware's recently introduced Neoware m100 mobile thin client notebooks.

NeoLinux 4.0's new features and capabilities include:

integration for USB and serial peripherals, with the ability to
execute scripts and update software from a USB memory stick,

  * Greater security: A new file structure that improves security and
increases integration flexibility. With built-in Citrix ICA 9 and

    applications and protocols
  * Customizable desktop: Optional PC-style interface with features
