Engines and Avionics Successfully Tested During GlobeTel's Subsidiary's Sanswire Networks' 2A Technology Demonstrator Stratellite Float

PALMDALE, Calif., March 6, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Sanswire Networks LLC, subsidiary of GlobeTel Communications Corp. (Pink Sheets:GTEM) announced that it successfully executed a tethered float test of Sanswire's 2A Technology Demonstrator on Sunday, March 4, 2007. The airship was floated to an altitude of 100 feet at the Sanswire facility to test vehicle control using new motor controllers with the onboard flight control system.

Doug Murch, Sanswire President, confirmed, "The airship motors were active and effective. Our systems worked without flaw as our engineering team controlled the avionics suite and propulsion system from the ground control center without interruption. Our airship demonstrator team performed superbly, with smooth operation and excellent coordination. They even handled a bit more wind and turbulent ground effects during the two-hour test."

About The Stratellite(tm)

A Stratellite(tm) stationed in the stratosphere, at 65,000 feet, will be able to provide state-of-the-art communications to areas that either don't currently have the infrastructure to support such services, or are unable to support a terrestrial-based infrastructure due to topography. Additionally, a Stratellite(tm) can be used to supplement communications services in areas where infrastructure has been damaged by natural or man-made disasters. Lower altitude, shorter duration airships more closely resembling the Sanswire 2A are envisioned to be able to provide communications in times of emergency or could be used for border patrol, surveillance, and as a communications bridge to naval battle groups or between ground troops.

About Sanswire Networks LLC

Sanswire Networks is focused on the construction of the Stratellite(tm), a specialized airship capable of carrying payloads that transmit various types of wireless communications. Placing a communications platform into the stratosphere is an idea that can fundamentally change how the world delivers wireless telecommunications, and the way we communicate.
