Buffalo Technology Adds Two New Wireless Routers to Its AirStation Family of Products

Newly Designed Routers Replace Previous Models and Offer Consumers the Latest in Wireless Connectivity Choices

AUSTIN, Texas, April 24, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Buffalo Technology, a global leader in the design, development and manufacturing of wired and wireless networking, storage and memory solutions today announced the new AirStation(tm) Wireless-N Nfiniti Router (WZR2-G300N) and the AirStation(tm) Wireless-G High Speed Router (WHR-G125). The latest Wireless-N Nfiniti Router offers Draft 802.11n wireless technology with optimized high-speed routing up to 10 times faster than standard routers. The new AirStation Wireless-G High Speed Router extends speeds of standard 802.11g technology by 35 percent when used with other Buffalo High Speed Mode devices. Both routers sport newly designed chassis and are ideal for consumers requiring a wireless Internet connection in a home or home office setting.

"Buffalo is continually on the cutting edge of delivering new wireless technology to our customers," said Morikazu Sano, senior vice president of global sales and marketing at Buffalo Technology. "These new routers offer an improved feature set compared to our previous models and provide users with the industry's latest Internet connectivity options."

AirStation(tm) Wireless-N Nfiniti Router (WZR2-G300N)

The AirStation Wireless-N Nfiniti Router's superior speed and coverage is perfect for high-speed multimedia streaming and on-line gaming. The device supports streaming of High-Definition (HD) video, music, and voice providing the ultimate on-line experience. For added convenience, it works seamlessly with a Nintendo(r) DS Wi-Fi connection. The product replaces the AirStation Nfiniti Router (WZR-G300N). However, users can still enjoy the same easy set-up and security features with Buffalo's exclusive Air-Station One-Touch Secure System (AOSS(tm)). The router is equipped with three external antennas, a built-in DHCP server and 4- port 10/100 Auto-Sensing switch. It also includes an external switch to change between Router and Access Point modes. Users will also appreciate the new chassis design that allows the product to be positioned horizontally making it easy to store in tight spaces.

AirStation(tm) Wireless-G High Speed Router (WHR-G125)

The AirStation Wireless-G High Speed Router is the successor to Buffalo's highly popular WHR-G54S model. The product combines new, improved features with the same robust performance as its predecessor such as Buffalo's AOSS technology and 4-port 10/100 Auto-Sensing switch. Users will also benefit from an external switch which easily allows the product to change from a router to a bridge. Router Mode shares a cable or DSL connection with multiple wired or wireless devices while Bridge Access Point Mode quickly adds wireless access to an existing LAN. For added convenience, the Smart Router automatically detects and configures a cable or DSL Internet connection making set-up a quick and easy. The combination of push-button wireless, easy Internet set-up and modest pricing make this router the ideal companion for any home network.

Advanced Security Features

Both routers offer advanced security features such as Wi-Fi Protected Access(tm) (WPA and WPA2) and Buffalo's Privacy Separator. Additional security features include dynamic packet filtering, NAT support and SPI firewall. In addition, the products' wireless output power setting allows users to set the parameters of their wireless signal. Additional security features include 128/64-bit WEP and Dynamic Packet Filtering.

Pricing and Availability

Both products are backed by a limited two-year warranty that includes toll-free 24/7 technical support.
