Guidance Software Names Former McAfee Interim President and CEO, Dale Fuller, to Board of Directors

Corporate Chief Brings Leadership Skills to Top Digital Investigations Firm to Support Continued Growth in 2007

PASADENA, Calif., May 3, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Guidance Software (Nasdaq:GUID), the World Leader in Digital Investigations(tm), announced today that it has added former McAfee, Inc. interim President and CEO, Dale Fuller, to its Board of Directors. Fuller, a proven technology executive with extensive experience across a wide range of consumer and enterprise companies, is a welcomed addition to Guidance Software as it continues to expand in key markets worldwide.

Presently, Fuller is a member of McAfee's Board of Directors. Previously, he served from October 2006 through April 2007 as the company's interim President and CEO. During his tenure as CEO, Fuller overhauled McAfee's accounting records and prepared the company for restatement. Concurrently, he kept the company focused on operational execution, revenue growth and margin expansion. This led to a 52-week high in stock price and creation of approximately $1 billion in market cap.

As the current Chairman of the Board for Phoenix Technologies, Fuller assists management in its effort to revamp the company. These endeavors include spearheading a transformation strategy to extend Phoenix Technologies' leadership beyond the PC market to a wider range of platforms and digital devices.

Prior to his position at Phoenix, Fuller served from 1999 to 2005 as President and CEO of Borland. Although he joined Borland as it faced bankruptcy, Fuller successfully reversed multiple years of losses at the company. Under Fuller's leadership, Borland experienced 18 consecutive quarters of profitability and growth and became a leader in the Java development and management arena.

Fuller was also Founder, President and CEO of WhoWhere? Inc., a leading community internet site acquired by Lycos in 1998 for more than $1 billion. He is also Founder and Chairman of the Let Them Hear Foundation, a cochlear implant and pediatric hearing aid program that offers services to patients globally.

Fuller holds an honorary degree from St. Petersburg State University and has been a member of both the American Association of Artificial Intelligence and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
