New York College of Podiatric Medicine Selects NetManage's OnWeb to Enable Student Access to Financial Aid Records

OnWeb Provides Students and Administration With Secure, Streamlined Access to Data While Reducing Overall Application Processing Time by More Than 40 Percent

CUPERTINO, Calif., May 7, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- NetManage, Inc. (Nasdaq:NETM), a software company that provides the fastest way to transform legacy applications into new Web-based business solutions today announced that the New York College of Podiatric Medicine has selected NetManage's OnWeb for iSeries(r) to enable student access to critical financial information. Using OnWeb for iSeries, students are now able to securely access financial aid records easier and faster than ever before while administrative personnel have been able to reduce application processing time by more than 40 percent.

A main function of the financial aid department is to field inquiries from students requesting their financial and loan information. Prior to OnWeb, financial aid personnel accessed student information by navigating through multiple green screens, which slowed transactions to approximately 10 to 15 minutes per call. In order to speed up information processing, the New York College of Podiatric Medicine needed a solution that could provide both staff and students with the ability to quickly and easily access the organization's IBM AS/400 server from any location. After deploying OnWeb for iSeries within the College's network, the financial aid office can now access relevant information in one step, accelerating the entire process to three to four minutes per request.

"Our financial department personnel and student users need secure access to student financial information housed within our networks quickly and easily," said Bill Graham, vice president of IT at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. "After deploying NetManage's OnWeb for iSeries late last year, our financial department professionals have reported that they can expedite financial aid requests and have fully eliminated all application backlog. Moreover, the process of accessing information is now easy enough for students to fulfill their own requests, saving the financial aid department time and processing costs."

By reusing functionality from the host systems with zero change to IBM AS/400 assets, OnWeb for iSeries eliminates the high cost and risk of modifying back-end systems. Creating direct access to legacy information, OnWeb enables departments to become more efficient while leveraging the amount of data stored on the information-rich IBM AS/400. OnWeb, a server-based software solution, helps companies leverage existing investments in enterprise information systems to develop new business initiatives with speed, ease and flexibility.

"NetManage's proven solutions turn mission-critical IBM AS/400 assets into Web-based environments, providing companies with the ability to solve real-world problems," said Zvi Alon, chairman, president and CEO at NetManage, Inc. "With NetManage OnWeb for iSeries, the New York College of Podiatric Medicine financial aid department now provides students with seamless access to critical financial information for improved customer service and a healthier bottom line."
