Travel Fairy Godmother Stephanie Abrams Sends Teens From Giving Tree Outreach's Homeless and Needy Kids Rescue Program to Ireland for Three Week Visit

BOSTON, June 15, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- "Lucky Caller Number 5" phoned the talk hotline for travel expert Stephanie Abrams' nationally syndicated radio show, Travel WITH Stephanie Abrams, in April, 2004. The winner, Tucson-based Libby Wright Giovingo, Executive Director and founder of the Giving Tree Outreach Program that rescues homeless children and assists needy children, won a visit in San Francisco and Abrams' commitment to providing life-enriching travel experiences for Giving Tree youth. "That win is still paying off as Libby accompanies three teens on a spectacular trip in Ireland!" Abrams states.

Abrams credits Denis Kane, General Manager of the Golf Club at Marriott Druids Glen Golf Resort in County Wicklow for suggesting she send the group to participate in their First Tee program established by Tiger Woods to teach young people golf-based life skills. "That conversation launched this trip to Ireland!" Abrams explains.

"Travel is vital to the educational process. Giving Tree teens' horizons are limited. My Travel Fairy Godmother mission creates unique opportunities to expand their insights, enrich their understanding, uplift their spirits, and enhance their ability to set meaningful goals," Abrams states. "Ireland is the perfect destination: rich in history, religion, art, music literature, gorgeous landscapes, seascapes, gardens, lakes and cliffs that inspire creative thinking and self-expression. Irish pride, determination, perseverance, traditions and persistence of people who have overcome severe hardships and so many obstacles makes their history an inspiration to all people faced with challenges."

The teens will golf, swim, and go surfing at the Fin McCool Surf School in Rossnawlagh, and experience the generous spirit and innate kindness of the Irish which is unparalleled on the planet," Abrams explains. "I expect them to return knowing adversity can be overcome with focus, persistence, humor, generosity, willingness to help others, regardless of your condition, and faith. You don't have to be in Ireland very long to see all of these factors in action daily," Abrams notes.

Abrams selected lodgings based on charm, whimsy, history, beautiful settings and great locations! "They started with an overnight at JFK's Crowne Plaza before flying to Ireland where there are two museum quality Baccarat Crystal urns valued at $250,000 each. Visiting the lobby is like visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art!" Abrams states.

Failte Ireland regional offices arrange visits to a variety of historic sites which they will visit in their Dooley Car Rental, large enough to accommodate the teens and their chaperones. "I wanted to be sure they receive personalized Irish hospitality and locally available assistance so I selected Dooley Car Rental, the only independent car rental company in Ireland," Abrams notes. Specially selected hotels include: Temple Gate Hotel in Ennis, County Clare; Castle Oaks Hotel, in Castleconnell, County Limerick; Cahernane House Hotel, Killarney; Belfry Hotel in Waterford; Marriott Druids Glen in Wick low; The Morgan in Dublin; Mooney's Hotel & Golf Resort in Dunadry, Northern Ireland; The Merchant Hotel in Belfast; The Beech Hill House in Derry ;The Sandhouse in County Donegal; Glenlo Abbey in County Galway; The Carrygerry Country House in Newmarket-on-Fergus; The Crowne Plaza at New York's JFK Airport.

A mini-site is under construction at Abrams' award-winning website, www.sabrams.com, with photos and links to the hotels noting attractions on the itinerary. "I'm announcing where next year's group is going on this Sunday's radio show!" Abrams concludes.
