D Mecatronics Inc. Opposes 'Junk E-mail' Stock Promotion Scheme Launched by 'Samurai Sttock' and Others

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, June 18, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- D Mecatronics Inc. (Pink Sheets:DMTN) today announced that a source outside the Company sent an e-mail to it on Sunday, June 17, stating that "junk e-mail" was being circulated about the Company.

Note to Editors = Spelling provided in this release reflects spellings in original spam e-mail.

The Company hereby unequivocally states that the junk e-mail (further described below) is completely unauthorized, is misleading, has been perpetrated by persons unknown to it, and that the Company has neither participated in nor condoned this email campaign nor any other spam e-mail campaigns involving the Company, its common shares or any products. D Mecatronics appreciates the SEC's mission in conducting "Operation Spamalot" and assures shareholders that it has no involvement in any "spamming" and will cooperate with securities regulators to apprehend and punish the perpetrators of this scheme.

Earlier this morning, the Company received and analyzed a copy of the junk e-mail, and it hereby releases portions of that e-mail (according to the version sent to it) to help investors identify the unauthorized scheme. The junk e-mail at issue references, in its subject line, "Samurai sttock Info," and the body of the email urges investors to "pull the trigger Monday" on Company stock. The text of the junk e-mail states in part that "Big news is due out Monday which is going to blow this off the charts" and also referred to a number of other entities, including "stok market Standouts," "Red Hot sttock Watch," "Powerhouse stok Profiles" and "Featured SmallCap Comp."

Several other aspects of the junk e-mail mark it as unauthorized and malicious. The frequent and systematic misspelling of the word "Stock" in the junk e-mail suggests an attempt to bypass spam filters. The junk e-mail's history headers (at least as sent to the Company) contain a header from an "Overseas.source" which further identifies the junk e-mail as unauthorized and malicious. In the interest of mitigating any potential harm to investors, the Company hereby issues this press release, disavowing any involvement in this or any other spam e-mail stock promotion. No one affiliated with the Company intends to sell any stock during the time of said spam promotion, nor have any of them received any financial benefit from this crude and unauthorized spam attempt.

Berardino Paolucci, President and CEO of D Mecatronics Inc., comments: "We support any efforts to rid the market of spam e-mails, which are damaging to the entire market as well as companies like ours. I remain confident that the Company is headed in the right direction in terms of our recent product launch, our sales efforts, our ongoing work to grow our product distributorships throughout North America, and our campaign to increase customer awareness of our product. I am also confident that our investor and public relations efforts have complied with applicable laws and regulations. In addition, we have made our company's filings of financial statements and information statements in a timely manner according to the guidelines stated at Pinksheets.com."
