MIDLAND, Mich., Aug. 6, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Chemical Bank Chairman David B. Ramaker today announced the appointment of Gary L. Richardson as Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer (CIO).

Chemical Bank has operated its own data processing operations center for over 29 years. In his capacity as CIO, Mr. Richardson will lead the bank in planning and implementing enterprise information systems to support both distributed and centralized business operations. Under Gary's leadership, we look forward to making our information technology offerings a strategic advantage for the company," said Ramaker. In accepting this appointment, Mr. Richardson will serve as Chemical Bank's first Chief Information Officer.

Previously, Mr. Richardson was Senior Vice President responsible for technology strategy and architecture, technology risk management software testing, software configuration management and compliance at ABN AMRO Services Co., Chicago, Illinois. His tenure with ABN AMRO has spanned almost a decade. Additionally, he is a 1984 graduate of University of Michigan with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science.
