United Online Launches NetZero and Juno Video Mail

Recipients View Videos by Clicking On a Link, Eliminating the Time and Hassle of Downloading

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., Aug. 28, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- United Online(r), Inc. (Nasdaq:UNTD), a leading provider of consumer Internet and media services, today announced the launch of Video Mail, allowing NetZero(r) and Juno(r) users to add a personal video to an email that recipients can view without having to download the video.

"Generally, the sender attaches a video file in an email which the recipient has to download," said Mark R. Goldston, chairman, president and chief executive officer of United Online. "Large video attachments can get intercepted by spam filters, and even if they do get through, they can take an extremely long time to download. With our video mail feature, you upload the video through your browser, or shoot a new video with a webcam, and send a link that the recipient clicks on to view the video. The player is in the browser so there is no downloading involved."

Unlike some existing video email services, including instant messaging services, NetZero and Juno Video Mail is email agnostic. Members can easily send video emails to any email address in the world.

Video mail service is available to both free and paid NetZero and Juno members. Free members can send videos of up to three minutes in length, while paid members can send longer videos. To send a video email, members go to their Message Center, click on email, compose and select "Video Mail." They can then either upload a video that is already on their computer, or record a new video with a webcam and upload it using the Video Mail system. A "Play" icon appears when the recipient clicks on the email, and selecting that icon plays the video.

Through its NetZero and Juno brands, United Online provides Internet access and email services to millions of members nationwide. The company recently launched DSL broadband service for both NetZero and Juno that is currently available in parts of 34 states and Washington D.C. Each Internet access account comes with an email account and email virus protection.
