Flushing Financial Corporation Announces That Patricia Mezeul Joins Flushing Commercial Bank as Senior Vice President, Director of Government Banking


LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., Jan. 30, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Flushing Financial Corporation (Nasdaq:FFIC) (the "Company"), the parent holding company for Flushing Savings Bank, FSB (the "Bank"), today announced that Patricia Mezeul has joined the Bank's subsidiary, Flushing Commercial Bank, as Senior Vice President, Director of Government Banking. The announcement was made by John R. Buran, Flushing Financial's President and Chief Executive Officer on behalf of Flushing's Board of Directors.

Ms. Mezeul is a seasoned executive with close to 30 years of commercial banking experience. Prior to joining Flushing, she was a Vice President, Senior Team Leader for Commerce Bank where she successfully established a Government Banking team that served the financial needs of governmental entities in the metropolitan area. From 1979 to 2002, she held several senior government banking positions at Fleet and NatWest banks. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Long Island University. Ms. Mezeul is a member of a number of professional associations including the New York Bankers Association, both the Nassau and Suffolk Association of School Business Officials, the Long Island Village/Clerk Treasurers Association, and the NYS Government Finance Officers Association. She currently resides in Garden City with her son.
