Harsco's Patent Access Services Division Receives $3 Million Order On Prestigious 'Hollywood & Vine'

HARRISBURG, Penn., Feb. 18, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Worldwide industrial services company Harsco Corporation (NYSE:HSC) today announced that its Patent access services division will play an important part in the revitalization of one of America's most famous intersections, Hollywood & Vine in Los Angeles, under new orders received by the division. Patent will provide over $3 million of rental concrete formwork equipment and services to San Mateo-based general contractor, Webcor Builders, as it constructs nearly 2 million square feet of new retail and commercial properties at the southeast corner of the world-renowned location. The project covers a 4.6-acre site -- nearly a full city block -- and will include a new luxury hotel, condominium units and apartments, and a broad array of restaurants and commercial spaces. The new complex is scheduled to open in mid-2009.

According to Patent's Executive Vice President and General Manager, Robert Safier, the project will be a division-wide effort that will include engineering design done in seamless electronic collaboration by engineers from Patent's San Francisco, Seattle and Miami branch offices, thus illustrating Harsco's strategic investments in process-enabling information technology resources. "Participating in a project of this scale and reputation testifies well to our world-class resources and engineering expertise, each of which represents key components of our unique value proposition to our markets and customers," said Safier. The project also capitalizes significantly on Harsco's investments in state-of-the-art shoring and forming equipment such as Pro-Shore for mid- and high-rise concrete construction. Since its West Coast market introduction just a few years ago, Pro-Shore continues to gain highly positive market acceptance and is now being introduced by Patent on major projects throughout the country.

A prime tourist destination since the early years of California's entertainment industry, Hollywood & Vine stands as a symbolic centerpiece of the American movie-making culture. Its attractions include several iconic landmarks, including the famed Hollywood Walk of Stars.
