GIBSONIA, PA--(Marketwire - April 2, 2008) -

WHEN: Thursday, April 3, 2008
          1:00 p.m.

WHERE: Magistrates' Office
          West Deer Township
2060 Saxonburg Blvd, Gibsonia, PA 15044

WHAT: "Tiger Ranch Cat Sanctuary was not abusing animals and Linda 'Lin Marie' Bruno, the owner, should not be charged with animal cruelty," says Chris DeRose, President of Last Chance for Animals (LCA). The preliminary hearing for Lin Marie will be held Thursday, April 3. Lin Marie was charged with animal cruelty on March 13, after the PSPCA raided and closed Tiger Ranch off of a tip from a former long time Tiger Ranch volunteer. The local Humane Society inspected the Sanctuary last October and found that it met all the requirements to remain open and functioning. It has been clearly shown in the Pennsylvania Courts that over the years the PSPCA has engaged in questionable and sometimes illegal practices in the seizure of various individual's companion animals and property. The PSPCA has done little to address the states notoriety as "The Puppy Mill Capital of the Nation" and seems to instead pick on well intentioned community members who are trying to help solve the homeless companion animal crisis that even the PSPCA has not been able to alleviate. Watch the Puppy Mill coverage on "Oprah" this Friday to see first hand the magnitude of Pennsylvania's problem.
