Silverstar's Empire Interactive Ships Hit Title, 'Ultimate Board Game Collection,' in Europe

BOCA RATON, Fla., April 15, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Empire Interactive, a unit of Silverstar Holdings (Nasdaq:SSTR), will ship to Europe the Ultimate Board Game Collection for Wii(tm), PlayStation 2(tm) and PSP(tm) (PlayStation Portable) on May 2, 2008 under its Xplosiv value label.

Bringing together some of the world's best board and table top games in one must-have compilation, Ultimate Board Game Collection contains all-time classic games for players of all ages. The collection is already a huge hit in the U.S., with nearly half a million copies sold to-date.

"Given the success of this title in the U.S., we're excited to bring this collection to European households," said Ian Higgins, CEO of Empire Interactive. "Publishing on a range of formats gives us an opportunity to fulfill the sales potential and family-wide appeal of these timeless games, and the Wii console in particular provides the perfect demographic for our first launch on this platform. The enthusiastic initial response by the European retail channel demonstrates the popularity of the game as well as the new Wii format."

Clive Kabatznik, CEO of Silverstar Holdings, added, "Ultimate Board Game Collection is our first Wii release and signals our intent to accelerate our title releases on this exciting new platform. This platform enhances our ability to provide casual games on a variety of platforms and to a broader consumer base."

The Ultimate Board Game Collection is made up of classic board and table games that gamers have enjoyed for years, including Parcheesi, Naval Battle, Chinese Checkers and more. The games can be customised to suit the tastes of individual players, with different rule sets, environments, piece types and sound tracks. Each game also has specific goals, with trophies awarded to players who complete them. Entire families will be entertained for hours and, best of all, there are no little pieces or dice to lose.

Silverstar announced in October 2007 it had signed an agreement with Valcon Games, LLC to publish and distribute the title across Europe. Valcon Games CEO Glenn Halseth commented, "With Empire's unique and very strong direct marketing distribution in Europe, we're confident we'll be able to reproduce the success we've enjoyed in North America."
