TASER International to Demonstrate Effectiveness of Multi-Layering TASER Technologies as a Force Multiplier At the Mock Prison Riots May 12-14, 2008

Demonstration to Feature the TASER XREP, TASER X12 LLS, TASER Shockwave and TASER X26

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., May 9, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- TASER International, Inc. (Nasdaq:TASR), a market leader in advanced electronic control devices, today announced it will conduct the first combined exercise of the TASER(r) X12 Less-Lethal Shotgun (LLS), TASER(tm) XREP(tm) -- eXtended Range Electronic Projectile, TASER(r) X26, and TASER(r) Shockwave(tm) Electronic Control Devices (ECDs) during this year's Office of Law Enforcement Technology Commercialization (OLETC) Mock Prison Riot(r) on the grounds of the former West Virginia Penitentiary in Moundsville, WV on May 12-14, 2008.

"TASER International is excited to demonstrate how our family of TASER ECDs not only serve the law enforcement communities, but how these systems can better serve the correctional industry," said Tom Smith, Chairman and founder of TASER International. "We plan to demonstrate the superior stopping power of our combined TASER products in live simulations featuring the TASER X26, TASER XREP, and TASER Shockwave against role playing rioters."

The TASER X12 LLS is a fully integrated less-lethal platform manufactured by Mossberg that has been optimized for the TASER XREP, while providing for integration of the TASER X26 ECD for close-in engagements. Weighing less than half an ounce, the XREP is the world's first wireless electronic control device. The TASER X12 LLS includes TASER(tm) Radial(tm) Ammunition Key technology (patent pending) to prevent the system from accepting lethal 12-gauge rounds in order to remove the possibility of end users loading a lethal round in a less-lethal system during high stress situations.

The TASER Shockwave, a command activated area denial system consisting of a modular six-shot TASER ECD that covers a 22-degree arc with 25-ft XP TASER cartridges. Shockwave is designed as a fully modular system, allowing the end user complete flexibility to deploy as needed to achieve the desired objective. The units can be stacked side by side, vertically, or can be 'daisy-chained' together in limitless combinations to allow an optimized response for every deployment.
