NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - May 19, 2008) - Alpha magazine, as part of its fifth-year
anniversary celebration, announces the creation of the Alpha Hedge Fund
Hall of Fame to recognize those individuals who have had a major impact on
the evolution, growth and success of the now $2 trillion hedge fund
industry. The inaugural group of 14 inductees is a who's who of some of the
world's greatest investors, including living legends like Julian Robertson
Jr., George Soros and Michael Steinhardt, as well as several of today's
most influential power brokers -- Steven Cohen, Kenneth Griffin and Paul
Tudor Jones II.
"Choosing among the hundreds of people who have contributed to the hedge
fund industry took months of deliberation," says Alpha editor Michael
Peltz. "Each of the inductees is a pioneer in his own right."
The 14 members of the Alpha Hedge Fund Hall of Fame will be honored in a
30-page feature in the June 2008 fifth-anniversary issue of Alpha. Readers
should enjoy seeing what these titans of finance have to say about their
greatest triumphs and failures, the current financial crisis and the
prospects for making money in the years ahead. On September 24, 2008, Alpha
will host a dinner at the St. Regis New York to induct the inaugural
members into the Alpha Hedge Fund Hall of Fame.
The first inductees to the Alpha Hedge Fund Hall of Fame are:
