FieldTurf Tarkett Appoints Doug Homer as Director of Soccer Development in North America


MONTREAL, June 2, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- FieldTurf's already powerful soccer network just got even stronger. Doug Homer has joined the FieldTurf Tarkett team as Director of Soccer Development in North America. His extensive experience in many facets of the soccer world will no doubt help him in his new role as FieldTurf Tarkett continues to add quality individuals to its soccer squad.

Doug joins the FieldTurf Tarkett team after spending the past five years with the U.S. Soccer Foundation as their primary fundraising and communications director. Doug has worked in the non-profit sector for over 14 years and has a multitude of development, management and strategic planning experience. Doug has also served abroad in the U.S. Peace Corps as a Volunteer in the former Soviet Republic of Kyrgyzstan. He is fluent in English, Russian, Turkish, and Swedish.

In 2000, Doug earned a Master of Arts degree in Instructional Systems from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Davis and Elkins College in 1993. He demonstrated his abilities outside the classroom as well by playing four years for the Davis and Elkins College Men's Soccer Team, earning a two-time All-West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) selection and an appointment to the Adidas Academic All-American team during his senior year.

A seasoned soccer coach, Homer has a National "B" Coaching License from the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and an Advanced National Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
