Harsco Announces Derek C. Hathaway Honored by Queen Elizabeth II


HARRISBURG, Pa., June 18, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Derek C. Hathaway, recently retired Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Harsco Corporation (NYSE:HSC) has been awarded an OBE (Order of British Empire) by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in recognition of Hathaway's "Services to Industry and Charity" in his native United Kingdom and overseas.

The announcement was published in London on June 14th in the Queen's Birthday Honors List, the date of her official birthday, when she traditionally honors ordinary citizens for their extraordinary contribution to the life of the nation. Hathaway will be required later in the year to attend in person at Buckingham Palace, London, for an investiture ceremony.
