MSC.Software Promotes Calvin R. 'Randy' Gorrell to Executive Vice President, Global Human Resources


SANTA ANA, Calif., Aug. 26, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MSC.Software (Nasdaq:MSCS), a leading global provider of enterprise simulation solutions including simulation software and services, has announced the promotion of Calvin R. "Randy" Gorrell to the position of Executive Vice President for Global Human Resources. This newly created position globally unifies the company's human resources departments and strengthens regional teams by deploying the "one company, one plan, one team" vision throughout the entire company.

Mr. Gorrell joined MSC.Software in November 2007 and is a seasoned global human resources executive with broad administration and operations experience within the technology, manufacturing and service industries. During his career he has demonstrated ability to lead global human resources teams and strategically partner with executive teams including CEOs and Board of Directors. Gorrell joined MSC.Software from ITT Corporation, a premier multi-industry company that supplies advanced technology products and services worldwide where he served as vice president and corporate director of human resources. During his tenure at ITT, Gorrell was the worldwide leader for ITT e-HR (enterprise HR and HRIS) strategy and implementation, led a global, multicultural HR team in China, Europe and North America, and served as executive coach and consultant to the president and executive team. While at ITT, Gorrell was honored with the National Human Resources Association (NHRA) "HR Executive of the Year" award. Previously Mr. Gorrell held senior executive global human resources positions at Hewlett-Packard Corporation, DST Systems/USCS International and Ziff-Davis Publishing. He was also a general partner/managing director for Westar Capital, a private equity-leveraged buyout firm.
