Workscape Rocks Recent HR Technology Conference

En Route to Industry Event, Workscape Completes Ten-City Tour to Address Hunger; Presents at Event With IBM, Unveils Popular New Product Offerings

MARLBOROUGH, MA--(Marketwire - October 27, 2008) - Workscape, Inc., a leading provider of outsourced benefits and talent management solutions, concluded its two-week Workscape "Gives Back" road trip at the recent HR Technology Conference & Exposition which was held October 15-17, 2008 at Chicago's McCormick Place. At the event, Workscape unveiled several new products -- including its OBA Express, HR Central and HR Express offerings, and latest version of its enterprise Talent Management suite, Workscape TMS 6.6 -- as well as previewed its succession planning solution. The company also co-presented an educational session on pay-for-performance best practices with its customer IBM.

Tony Marzulli, Workscape's Chief Marketing Officer, observed, "The annual HR Technology Conference is our industry's most important venue. This year, Workscape decided to make the event the showcase for our major product announcements, as well as our company's corporate social responsibility program."

Giving Back: Workscape's Road Trip

Leading up to the HR Technology Conference, Workscape embarked upon a two-week road trip to raise awareness for the growing demand placed upon local food banks as a result of today's economic crisis. Starting from the company's Marlborough, Mass.-based headquarters on September 30, 2008, state and local politicians, company executives and former Celtic basketball star M.L. Carr convened to kick off the trip by making donations to local food pantries and other local charities. A 2008 Saturn VUE Hybrid -- graciously loaned to Workscape by its customer General Motors -- was then driven by Workscape employees to food pantries in nine additional cities, a journey of more than 1,500 miles. At each food pantry, Workscape donated $1,000 as well as non-perishable food items. At a number of locations, Workscape partnered with local grocery stores hosting food drives to raise hunger awareness and help the local food pantries. During the stop in New York City, Workscape's employees were recognized on the CBS "Early Show" for their efforts. Workscape and IBM "Demystify" Pay-for-Performance

At the HR Technology Conference, Workscape CEO, Tim Clifford, and Director, Incentives Transformation, IBM, Michael Fontaine, reported on the process and results of a three-year transformation of IBM's employee compensation policies, technology and procedures entitled, "Driving Global Pay-for-Performance at IBM." The session was attended by nearly 80 HR professionals, who were eager to learn why IBM decided to turn to Workscape for a compensation management solution rather than to build it in-house, and how Workscape was able to deliver a SaaS-based solution used by over 40,000 IBM managers supporting more than 400,000 employees and deployed in Workscape's four global data centers to meet IBM's requirements.

Lucky Attendee Wins Saturn Hybrid

Workscape's trade show booth was a popular destination at the HR Technology Conference, as the company held a drawing for a 2009 Saturn VUE Greenline Hybrid in its booth. On the last day of the event, hundreds crowded the Workscape booth to witness the audited drawing. The lucky winner was Neena Bhaskar of Washington, D.C., who will take delivery of her Saturn VUE from a local dealer.

New Products Especially Designed for Mid-Market Companies

At the HR Technology Conference, Workscape demonstrated two new offerings that have been especially designed for mid-market companies: OBA Express and HR Express. HR Express is a SaaS-based solution that combines all HR-related information and activities into one easy-to-use Web-based, single point of access solution. It combines a common technology platform across Workscape's three integrated solutions: Outsourced Benefits Administration (OBA), Workscape Talent Management and Workscape HR Central portal. As a result, organizations can reduce costs and minimize workload while delivering robust functionality to the HR team and the managers and employees they support.

OBA Express is Workscape's new mid-market entrant into the outsourced benefits administration category. It delivers world-class enrollment and eligibility solutions that empower employees to make informed, comprehensive decisions regarding benefits coverage and costs, thereby improving employee engagement.

Workscape Talent Management 6.6 Integrates Compensation, Performance and Goals in a Single Employee Profile

Unveiled at the HR Technology Conference, the newest version of Workscape's talent management suite adds more performance management functionality to automate and streamline goal setting, sharing and performance evaluations. In addition, with this latest release, Workscape provides extended support of compensation processes including focal and non-focal awards.

At the HR Technology Conference, Workscape released the results of a recent research study on succession planning conducted with Human Resource Executive® magazine. According to Workscape and Human Resource Executive's research, employers are just starting to take advantage of technology-based succession planning solutions across the enterprise. While 60% or higher have succession planning tools in place for C-level, VP level and director level, the number drops quickly to 44% for managers and 12% for the general workforce.

Workscape CEO Tim Clifford commented, "With version 6.6 of our talent management suite, we've delivered a single application suite that has compensation management at the core, while also addressing performance management and succession planning."

Marzulli concluded, "As we get ready to celebrate our 10th anniversary, 2008 is proving to be a monumental year for Workscape. The momentum that we've generated at the HR Technology Conference promises to further solidify our position as a leader in the talent management and outsourced benefits administration categories."
