Bark Obama Narrowly Defeats John McCanine for President During "Bark the Vote" Election

COLD SPRING HARBOR, NY--(Marketwire - November 3, 2008) - Bark Obama narrowly defeated John McCanine for President at a recent election during Howl-ween, the world's largest canine costume party in Cold Spring Harbor, NY. Canines made sure their barks were heard as they entered a voting booth to cast ballots in hopes of swaying public opinion during Corky's "Bark-the-Vote" election.

Hundreds of ballots were cast by well informed canines who were looking for their chance to "Bark the Vote" and make a difference. "Voter turnout was unprecedented and it was an incredibly tight election," said Corky Nightingale, a Westie who led the "Bark the Vote" campaign. "We are eager to see the results and to see if our votes will have any influence on the final outcome of our presidential election," she continued.

"Bark the Vote" was part of Howl-ween, Corky's Canine Costume Party, an event which raises funds for rescue dogs and dogs that rescue. In addition to casting ballots, the voting canines participated in a chic canine costume parade while marching through the town to the tune "Who Let The Dogs Out!" The canine celebrities were greeted by "Pupparazzi" as they entered the park on the "Red Carpet" to vote and participate in a "Paws for a Cause" festival.

Several famous pooches set aside time from their busy schedules to ensure their votes were heard and that they were part of the fun and festivities. Confidential sources stated that Schnauzer Scooter Szcepanowski-Goldsmith brought his owner, 2006/2007 Mrs. New York title holder, Lidia, to the party. The same sources saw Yorkshire Terrier Brianna Rivera-Avila who was also there with her owner, 2008 National American Miss New York Teen Crystal Rivera-Avila.
