"Garner brings a level of enthusiasm and leadership to the ADVP level of management that will allow for an increase in service to our customers," stated Executive Vice President (EVP) Ron Frank. He has shown the willingness to put forth the emotional and physical energy to be results oriented rather than activity focused. I believe Garner will work hard to accomplish the results that being an ADVP requires and I look forward to working with him."

Carey began his 20-year U-Haul career in August 1986 as a part-time telemarketer for U-Haul Center Arlington. Carey remained there for nearly three years, while also holding the positions of sales manager and assistant center manager. In April 1989, he was promoted to general manager (GM) of U-Haul East Los Angeles. He ran several centers, including Torrance, Covina and San Clemente in Southern California, up until 1991. In February 1994, Carey was accepted into the Account Executive Program in U-Haul Marketing Dealer/Center Support. Shortly thereafter, in April 1994, he was promoted to marketing company president (MCP) of U-Haul Company North Philadelphia and oversaw operations in North Philadelphia for more than six years, until he left the U-Haul System in 2000. In February 2007, Garner rejoined the U-Haul System as MCP of U-Haul Company North Texas. Today, ADVP Carey will oversee U-Haul operations for District 5.

"This is an exciting time for U-Haul and our industry, with strong companies becoming even stronger, which will be the case with U-Haul moving and storage," Carey stated. "A happy and productive team equates to outstanding customer service. It is my pleasure to work with a team of such high-caliber MCPs to improve profits and increase service to our customers."
