Army and Air Force Exchange Service Offers TASER Personal Safety Devices Online

TASER International to Donate Proceeds to Improve Quality of Life for U.S. Military Personnel

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Jan. 6, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- TASER International, Inc. (Nasdaq:TASR), a market leader in advanced electronic control devices, today announced that the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) has begun offering discounted TASER(r) Personal Safety devices on their Web Mall and Online Web Exchange services for military personnel.

As part of the partnership between AAFES and TASER International, TASER International will donate a portion of its proceeds from AAFES sales back to the organization to help improve troops' quality of life through military morale, welfare, and recreation programs.

"TASER International is pleased to offer its personal safety devices through the AAFES web outlet to the men and women who keep our country safe and secure every day," said Doug Cote Citizen Sales Manager. "The partnership with AAFES affords active duty military personnel, guard and reserve members and military retirees and their families access to our life-saving products while enabling TASER International an opportunity to give something back to the military men and women who serve our country.

The two models available through AAFES are the TASER(r) X26C and the TASER(r) C2 personal safety devices. The TASER X26C was modelled after our law enforcement TASER(r) X26 utilizing the same technology as our proven law enforcement models. The TASER C2 is the latest personal safety model which is much smaller in size and ergonomically made to fit easier in the hands of the owner. The TASER C2 is available in five different colors and incorporates a revolutionary new public safety background check technology called CheckLok that adds to the accountability of the end user.

With CheckLok, TASER C2 units are shipped in an inactive state. The devices cannot be used until end users successfully complete a background check from the privacy of their own homes or offices using a secure web site or a toll-free number. After passing the background check, the user is issued a unique activation code and the device is registered with the company to that individual.
