Infoblox Achieves U.S. Federal Government Certification for IPv6

Infoblox Core Network Services Appliance Product Family Fulfills Mandatory IPv6 Requirements

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - January 26, 2009) - Infoblox Inc., a global leader in appliance-based platforms for highly secure, manageable and robust core network services -- including domain name resolution (DNS), IP address assignment (DHCP) and IP address management (IPAM) -- announced today that the Infoblox appliances, with the unique Infoblox NIOS™ operating system and grid technology, have been successfully certified by the Defense Information Systems Agency for Internet Protocol (IP) Version 6 (IPv6) interoperability. As a result, Infoblox is now approved for listing on the U.S. federal government's Unified Capabilities (UC) Approved Products List (APL) as IPv6 capable.

As part of the Department of Defense (DoD) IPv6 Generic Test Plan Version 2.0, this certification is based on testing conducted by the federal government's Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC). This certification enables federal government customers to deploy Infoblox's entire family of core network services products, including the Infoblox-2000, -1552, -1550, -1050, -550 and -250 running NIOS version 4.3r2 or later, with assurance that government requirements have been met.

"This certification is a key element of our comprehensive strategy for providing core network services for IPv6 networks," said Richard Kagan, vice president of Marketing at Infoblox. "We already have an extensive list of government customers as a result of our security, high availability and operational advantages. With this certification, our federal government customers now have a robust solution that integrates certified core network services for IPv6 and IPv4, along with built-in IP address management (IPAM). This will accelerate and smooth the transition to next generation network technologies."

About Infoblox Appliances and Grid Technology

Infoblox pioneered core network services appliances and delivered a number of industry firsts, including the first appliances to integrate DNS, DHCP, and IPAM, RADIUS, TFTP/FTP/HTTP file delivery, NTP, and other services in hardened, easy-to-manage network appliances.

Infoblox grids link a group of member appliances into a unified, centrally managed system with unique resilience and automation functions. For example, the software for all appliances in a grid can be updated in a single operation. Parameters for DNS, DHCP, and all network services can be set at a grid-wide level. Data from all members and services can be viewed and managed from a single location. Additionally, advanced functionality, such as automated failover to and from disaster recovery sites, is built in.

About JITC Certification

The JITC approved vendor list is created for the Defense Information Systems Agency to globally share testing approvals for an assortment of DoD applied communications equipment. The APL offers the JITC community an increased level of confidence that the communications equipment they are purchasing have been tested for information assurance and/or interoperability. To achieve certification, Infoblox appliances were rigorously tested to ensure compliance with IPv6 protocol specifications.
