SEATTLE and OTTAWA, March 5, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- SARS Corp. (Pink Sheets:SARO) ("SARS"), a provider of technologies dedicated to the satellite-based management of fixed and mobile assets, together with its marketing partner, Securewest International, Inc. ("Securewest International") a leader in maritime security and emergency response, today announced its agreement to integrate the SkyWave Mobile Communication Inc.("SkyWave") Long Range Identification Tracking ("LRIT") solution with the SARS asset tracking and management systems.

In addition, SARS and Securewest International have been selected as joint Test Application Service Providers ("ASP") for certification of their respective asset tracking systems for the Flag Administrations of Kuwait, Mauritius, Australia, Bahamas, Gibraltar, United Kingdom, Bermuda, Norway, Turkey, St. Kitts and Nevis, Sierra Leone and Cook Islands (Pending), which are responsible for enforcing maritime law in their respective jurisdictions. In 2008, SARS and Securewest International were awarded the contract for the provision of a National Data Centre (NDC) for vessels registered under the Flag Administrations of St. Kitts and Nevis.

"We want to provide the best possible testing services and LRIT solutions to bring non-compliant vessel owners into compliance with the International Maritime Organization's ("IMO") specifications," says Christopher Wain, CEO of SARS Corp. "Securewest International and SARS are pleased to partner with SkyWave to offer their LRIT system, which in tests has demonstrated full compliance with the IMO. We believe that SkyWave's system will assist us attracting of vessel owners and bringing vessels into compliance, both quickly and at a low cost."

LRIT regulations, which the IMO established to improve maritime security, came into force on January 1, 2008. Vessels found to be non-compliant with IMO specifications may be denied entry to territorial waters or ports, in addition to facing significant fines. As a Test ASP, SARS and Securewest International are responsible for (i) providing information to ship owners and operators, as well as Flag Administrations, and (ii) enabling testing to be carried out on ships to ensure LRIT compliance.
