NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - April 6, 2009) - SC Magazine, the longest running information
security magazine in the world, will host its second annual SC World
Congress (www.scworldcongress.com) Enterprise Data Security Conference and
Expo in New York City to bring together the top minds in the IT security
industry once again. SC World Congress will take place on October 13-14,
2009 at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers, and will examine topics
ranging from data theft and compliance to establishing partnerships between
government and the private sector.
Building on the success of the inaugural event, SC World Congress 2009 will
feature four keynote presentations examining timely topics such as how the
Obama Cyber Administration is looking at the intersection of the private
and public sectors, and a CISO and CFO panel on information security
recession management.
Over the two conference days, attendees will have the opportunity to choose
from numerous sessions under four tracks: Policy and Management; Emerging
Threats and Risk Planning; Editor's Choice; and a brand new Technical track
that will offer a deeper dive on the technical aspects of threats and
vulnerabilities as well as relevant solutions. Each track will address a
broad range of issues, from security awareness to critical infrastructure
protection to SCADA attacks to cyber warfare.
"In our unprecedented global economic crisis, IT security is more relevant
than ever to the professionals who must respond to tightened budgets and
greater threats," said Illena Armstrong, editor in chief, SC Magazine.
"This fall, SC World Congress in New York will be the place to be for
security professionals and corporate leaders to reconnect, share best
practices, and learn about the latest in enterprise security from our high
caliber speakers and exhibiting vendors."
Last year, SC World Congress 2008 featured a high-level speaker lineup
including Louis Freeh, former FBI director, and members of the Commission
on Cybersecurity for the 44th Presidency, including Rep. Jim Langevin
(D-RI) and Michael McCaul (R-TX). The show floor featured over 60
exhibitors and drew more than 700 attendees.
SC Magazine is currently accepting submissions for speakers at SC World
Congress 2009. Those interested in attending, exhibiting or speaking at SC
World Congress 2009 can obtain more information at www.scworldcongress.com.
