Machine Designed as Skid Steer Attachment

OCONOMOWOC, WI--(Marketwire - May 4, 2009) - Road Widener LLC of Oconomowoc, Wis., has
introduced a more flexible road widener that gives contractors and
landscapers an advantage for work on road shoulders, driveways, trails and
paths.
The new Road Widener saves
time, money and manpower based on its innovative design as a skid steer
attachment.
"Contractors already have skid steers," noted Devin Wolf, co-owner of Road
Widener LLC in metropolitan Milwaukee. "Our Road Widener makes the skid
steer more versatile and has the broad range of capabilities of
self-propelled or more complex wideners."
Shoulder work, driveway work and work on paths is now easily accomplished
with the Road Widener and a skid steer. "With a skid steer, you can now
handle three different aspects of roadwork: shoulder work with the Road
Widener, rolling with another attachment, and sweeping with another," said
Duane Neumann, who invented the Road Widener.
"The Road Widener increases my productivity about 10 times. It actually
saves me two laborers on a job," said Mark Thome of Mtec Environmental, a
landscaping business in Dousman, Wis. "It's so easy to use; you can run it
and easily adjust it from the inside of the skid steer cab."
The machine can handle widths of 1 to 3.5 feet and can disperse a 20-ton
truckload of gravel in minutes. Width, height and flow are hydraulically
controlled, with the operator having precise control over placement of
materials.
Its smaller size makes it a preferable machine for many uses.
"We have used The Road Widener with our skid loaders and it has provided us
speed in subdivisions without having to mobilize a larger unit," said Pat
Brown of Payne & Dolan, a major Wisconsin-based road construction company.
Wolf said the machine would appeal to companies seeking an advantage in the
tough economy and beyond.
"In these tough economic times, contractors are looking for another
competitive advantage," Wolf said. "With its versatility and low operating
cost, the Road Widener offers that edge."
That's what Brent Weiss, owner of Asphalt Associates in Roberts, Wis.,
found.
"We are always looking for ways to add value to our customers and keep
their investment in pavement cost-effective; the Road Widener does that for
us," Weiss said. "The Road Widener provides us with a competitive edge,
saving us time, labor and other costs. We can do asphalt patching, protect
long driveways with new asphalt by laying down top rock, and then black
dirt for seeding, thus protecting new driveways. We are very happy with
this attachment; the industry should have had one long ago."
