SulphCo Announces Technology Agreement With OMV


HOUSTON, May 12, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- SulphCo, Inc. (the "Company" or "SulphCo") (NYSE Amex:SUF), a technology company with a patented ultrasound process designed to desulfurize crude oil products and crude oil, announces that it has entered into a Technology Agreement (the "Agreement") with OMV Refining & Marketing GmbH ("OMV").

Based on results from recent laboratory and field testing of SulphCo's Sonocracking(tm) technology, SulphCo and OMV have entered into the Agreement to evaluate SulphCo's technology in several refining applications. The respective evaluations will be conducted by SulphCo and OMV personnel in OMV's pilot plant facilities during the next two months. The results from these evaluations will help determine the commercial applicability of SulphCo's technology within OMV's applications.
