RUSHVILLE, Ind., July 27, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Omnicity Corp (OTCBB:OMCY), the Midwest's largest fixed Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) continues to aggressively move forward with its plan to become a premier consolidator in the WISP industry by acquiring the subscribers and network infrastructure of Rushville, Indiana based Rushville Internet Services, LLC. This acquisition serves as a springboard for Omnicity to begin expanding service into southern Indiana.

By acquiring the assets of this company we pick up 450 customers and control of 10 important access points along the southern edge of our network. To further enhance the services available to these newly acquired subscribers, Omnicity plans to add Voice-over-Internet Protocol (VOIP) and Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) throughout the coverage area over fiber optic and WiMax wireless technology.
The acquisition of Rushville Internet's customers and network infrastructure was completed on July 23, 2009 as an all stock transaction. This transaction is the fifth strategic acquisition completed by Omnicity in as many months. Aside from organic growth, these acquisitions have allowed Omnicity to continue along its path to become one of the largest rural broadband providers across the United States. This rapid expansion has allowed Omnicity to increase its client base exponentially and enter into provider contracts such as the recently announced multi-year contract with Educational Networks of America.
