Alfresco Set to Double Number of System Integrator Partners in 2009

System Integrators Continue Shift to Open Source Solutions in Current Economic Climate

ATLANTA, GA,--(Marketwire - August 3, 2009) - Alfresco Software, the leader in open source enterprise content management (ECM), today announced the expansion of its North and South American partner program for system integrators (SI) in response to increasing demand. As open source economics continue to create new opportunities for SIs, the lack of upfront license fees for Alfresco ECM also enables enterprise customers to fund more projects and allocate more budget and resources to project delivery.

With downloads of Alfresco Community Edition surpassing 1.7 million and new American customers including Virgin Mobile, FedEx and Sun Microsystems over the past year, demand for Alfresco's open source solutions has increased dramatically. As a result, the need for approved Alfresco SI partners to support new project implementations, as well as expertise to assist with migrations away from legacy ECM systems, has been high. As one of multiple strategies to field this growing demand, Alfresco is on track to more than double its number of SI partners across the Americas by the end of 2009.

The SI partner program offers new partner benefits -- ranging from turnkey enablement to co-marketing and branding opportunities -- that will enable system integrators across the Americas to build new practice areas and generate consistent revenue streams around Alfresco open source ECM and Web content management (WCM) technologies.

"Since partnering with Alfresco, we have increased the number of new open source projects over the past year. Our dedicated Alfresco team has been very easy to work across sales, marketing and resell activities," said Matt Schmeltz, EVP and co-founder, Acquity Group. "Alfresco has chosen not to offer direct consulting or professional services, but rather focus on developing an enterprise-class ECM platform. So with their support, we are looking to expand our capabilities with Alfresco and be their 'go-to' partner in North America."

By joining Alfresco's partner program, SIs will be able to take advantage of a range of opportunities, including:

-- Turnkey enablement including both sales and technical training
-- Lead sharing for services and resell opportunities
-- Partner Solution Showcase to promote applications developed on the
    Alfresco platform
-- Joint business planning and dedicated resources for business
    development activities
-- Joint marketing opportunities and assistance
-- Speaking opportunities at Alfresco and industry events
-- Access to an Alfresco Enterprise subscription and technical support
-- Access to Alfresco portal for knowledge-base sales and marketing
    materials
-- Promoting solutions in the upcoming Partner Solution Showcase

"Our expanded SI partner program further demonstrates Alfresco's commitment to a channel sales model and to enabling our partners to become full-service resources for the Alfresco Enterprise customer base," said Bill Robinson, vice president of the Americas at Alfresco Software, Inc. "We look forward to working with new SI partners and enabling them to achieve the success of our existing partners, including Booz Allen Hamilton, Optaros and Rivet Logic -- all previous winners of Alfresco Partner of the Year Awards."
