Aydin Displays Sees Record Backlog by Year End

ATLANTA, Sept. 4, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Video Display Corporation (Nasdaq:VIDE) announces that its Aydin Displays Inc. subsidiary has achieved one of the strongest quarters for order bookings in the history of the company. Second quarter orders booked for the June through August 2009 period were nearly $6M with 3rd quarter bookings expected to be at or above that level. "We're very pleased with this achievement in such a challenging economy both in the U.S. and worldwide," commented David Heiden, President / COO of Video Display Corporation. "Aydin's investment in new products such as Aydin's 24" and 57" LCD line and technologies such as LCD lamination and LED backlighting has gained broad acceptance for use in numerous U.S. Navy programs. This acceptance has generated significant foreign interest as other countries tend to follow the U.S. lead." Aydin expects to achieve a record order backlog by the end of the year. Through its robust sales team and worldwide partnerships with representation and distribution firms along with recent contract awards, Aydin has received numerous new orders, and continues to evolve as a dominant force in the rugged display industry and innovator in display technology.
