SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - September 23, 2009) - The Online News Association (ONA) is
looking for a few good ideas. Six, in fact.
ONA, the world's largest membership organization of digital journalists,
invites you to submit your media entrepreneurship idea to "6 in 60," the
demo-style pitch competition being featured Friday, Oct. 2, at its annual
conference -- ONA09 -- at the Hilton San
Francisco.
If you're creating new mapping technology, a super hyper-local site, a new
mobile platform, storytelling-related tech tools, or anything cool and
interesting in the online media space, this is your chance to get your
startup in front of a panel of distinguished, experienced judges -- and to
win one-on-one consultations with a venture capitalist and a product
development expert who can help you bring your idea to life.
Who is eligible: Startups and new online media or media tool-set businesses
less than 1 year old that have received less than $20,000 in angel funding
(or no outside funding at all).
Who is moderating and judging: Susan Mernit, founder, Oakland Local; David
Cohn, Founder/Director, Spot.us; Mary Hodder, founder, Dabble and a new
stealth start-up, and Christine Herron, Principal, First Round Capital.
To apply, contact Susan Mernit, mernit@gmail.com. For more information,
check out the 6-in-60 session. To register for the
conference, go to
ONA09.
The "6-in-60" session is sponsored by Marketwire.
