Keller Rohrback Announces Investigation of Alleged Unfair and Deceptive Overdraft Debit Card Fees

SEATTLE, Oct. 9, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Attorney Advertising -- Keller Rohrback L.L.P. (www.krclassaction.com) announces that it is investigating possible claims against the following banks who subject their customers to alleged deceptive and unfair overdraft debit card fees: Key Bank, Zions Bancorporation, Capital One, and PNC Financial Corporation.

The investigation focuses on commercial banks: (1) processing transactions that overdraw customers' bank accounts without informing customers that overdraft fees would be applied; (2) undisclosing overdraft protection; and (3) the systematic practice of processing transactions without regard to chronology for purposes of maximizing banking service fees (e.g. when multiple debits occur on the same day, processing larger debit transactions first so that an account is depleted and overdraft charges can be assessed on multiple subsequent transactions). Among other possible causes of action, these practices potentially violate state breach of contract law, the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, as well as the applicable state Unfair Trade Practices Act, and Consumer Protection Act.

If you have been negatively impacted by these alleged unfair and deceptive overdraft fees and/or insufficient fund fees assessed by Key Bank, Zion's Bancorp, Capital One or PNC Financial Corporation, or any other bank, please contact attorneys Karin Swope or Mark Griffin, or paralegal Megan Barnett for additional information at (800) 776-6044, or via e-mail at mbarnett@kellerrohrback.com.
