Retalix to Incorporate Microsoft SQL Server 2008 With Its Retail and Supply Chain Software

DALLAS, Nov. 9, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Retalix(R) (Nasdaq:RTLX) has announced that it will integrate Microsoft SQL Server 2008 with its retail and supply chain software offerings.

The Retalix products that will use Microsoft SQL Server 2008 include

 * Retalix Loyalty -- A powerful, targeted promotions and consumer
interaction solution that delivers offers, tracks performance
and personalizes communications. As an enterprise-wide,
real-time, scalable system, the software seamlessly ties
together centralized operations, marketing management, special
promotions, IT and the shoppers themselves.

 * Retalix Demand AnalytX (DAX) -- A browser-based, demand-driven
replenishment solution, designed specifically for food and
fast moving consumer goods retailers to optimize inventory and
streamline the order process. It is comprised of four core
modules: Demand Forecasting, Inventory, Ordering, and Analytics,
and contains unique algorithms to interpret demand and optimize
   replenishment orders.

"Microsoft SQL Server 2008 offers many new database features that will greatly enhance our software offerings for the retail and supply chain industries," said Roy Simrell at Retalix. "The combination of our technologies will help retailers and distributors benefit from faster, more advanced and intuitive management capabilities for integration in an existing IT infrastructure. This will result in greater productivity and increased customer service."

"SQL Server 2008 is Microsoft's leading database product," said Bill Gonzalez, general manager, Worldwide Distribution and Services, Microsoft. "The integration of Retalix and SQL enhances the value of Retalix as a solution for our customers in the retail and distribution business."

SQL Server 2008 delivers on Microsoft's Data Platform vision by helping enterprises manage any data, any place, any time, and store data from structured, semi-structured, and unstructured documents, such as images and rich media, directly within the database. SQL Server 2008 delivers a rich set of integrated services that support a variety of functions, including query, search, synchronize, report and analyze.

SQL Server 2008 provides the highest levels of security, reliability and scalability for business-critical applications. To take advantage of new opportunities in today's fast-moving business world, companies need the ability to create and deploy data-driven solutions quickly. SQL Server 2008 reduces the time and cost of management and development of applications.

With SQL Server 2008, companies can access data from across the enterprise and provide control over the data no matter where it is stored -- from the largest servers within the data center to desktops to mobile devices. SQL Server 2008 provides a comprehensive platform that delivers intelligence where users want it. Information workers, for example, can access data directly using the tools they use every day, such as the 2007 Microsoft Office system.

SQL Server 2008 also enables data to be consumed from custom applications developed using Microsoft .NET and Visual Studio and from within service-oriented architectures (SOA) and business processes through Microsoft BizTalk Server.
