API Now Available for EMS Facility Scheduling and Resource Management Products From Dean Evans & Associates, Inc.

Application Programming Interface Will Streamline Integration With Meeting and Event Scheduling Systems

DENVER, CO--(Marketwire - November 19, 2009) - Dean Evans & Associates, Inc. (www.dea.com) today announced the availability of an API (application programming interface) for EMS Professional™ and EMS Enterprise™-level systems in their EMS line of facility scheduling and resource management products. The tool, which is available free of charge to customers, their vendors and anyone looking to integrate with EMS, allows developers to write applications that interact with an EMS database through a well-documented, well-maintained interface.

"While this is considered Version 1.0 of the API, it's actually the second generation of the tool," says company president Dean Evans. "More than a year ago we provided a number of our business partners with a first generation API that they used to create an interface from their touch-screen, interactive systems to EMS for the purpose of making and updating reservations. The Version 1.0 release of the API formalizes it as a tool that partners, customers and vendors can use."

"Because they are built on an open database platform -- Microsoft SQL Server® -- our products have always been very accessible to custom integration efforts," says Ed Nowak, the company's director of product development. "The API, which allows applications to interact with the EMS database via a collection of SOAP-based web services, will both standardize and simplify that interaction. Our first iteration includes most of the calls necessary to pull data from EMS. Subsequent iterations will provide the capability to insert and update data in EMS."

Developers can obtain the API and documentation by contacting the company's Customer Support department (support@dea.com) or a product consultant.
