Sionix Teams Up With Minnesota State Senator Jungbauer

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Jan. 26, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sionix Corporation (OTCBB:SINX) announced today the engagement of Minnesota State Senator Mike Jungbauer (R) as political liaison for the Company in all environmental affairs related to water treatment. Senator Jungbauer has worked in more than twenty states and four foreign countries consulting on water treatment issues. His passion for "green" projects has resulted in his appointment to numerous public initiatives, including the American Legislative Exchange Council, the National Caucus of Environmental Legislators, and the National Conference of State Legislators. He has also collaborated with and presented concept designs to several environmental quality boards and agencies regarding water treatment technologies. As a collaborator with the EPA, Senator Jungbauer is working towards a uniform recycle and reuse standard at both the federal and state levels. He is currently working with the U.S. House and Senate on drafting and enacting wastewater treatment and reuse national standards.

James R. Currier, the Chairman and CEO of Sionix, commented, "Senator Jungbauer's appointment is a giant leap forward as the Sionix products and technology are particularly suited to Minnesota's emergence as the nation's foremost green state, both by proclamation and act. During the course of his engagement, Senator Jungbauer will advise Sionix on Minnesota state legislative and regulatory issues that impact the Sionix business. His long record of public service and dedication to environmentally sound public policy speaks for itself." Senator Jungbauer vowed that as a confirmation of his political values, when any issues concerning Sionix come before his committee assignments or before the legislature as a whole, he will immediately recuse himself from participation, a decision with which the Company concurs.

About Sionix:

Based in Santa Monica, California, Sionix designs innovative and advanced water treatment systems intended for use in defense, government facilities, and emergency water supplies during natural disasters, housing development projects, and various industrial processes. These systems can be used to remove salt, oil, waste and other infectious bacteria from contaminated resources. They are also used as pre-treatment for reverse osmosis and other membrane applications. Industries involved in dairy, agribusiness, meat processing, bottling water, mining, poultry operations, and many others can benefit from a cost-effective, easily-maintained, portable water treatment system provided by Sionix.

Sionix specializes in the treatment of water contaminated through the process of subterranean fracturing used by oil and gas drillers, locating Sionix units adjacent to drilling sites to eliminate expensive, unnecessary public exposure to toxic waste products by transporting contaminated wastewater to remote locales for treatment. Using our patented dissolved air flotation ("DAF") technology packaged in a mobile shipping container, we create bubbling dynamics that elevate organic contaminants to the surface where 99.95% are skimmed off.
