Virtual Instruments Introduces Bo Barker, VP Services

Former EMC Global Services Director Takes the Services Reins at Virtual Instruments


SCOTTS VALLEY, CA--(Marketwire - February 25, 2010) -  Virtual Instruments, a leader in SAN and virtual infrastructure optimization, today announced that Bo Barker, a 22-year industry veteran, has joined the Company as vice president of services. Barker, after spending nine years at EMC in multiple services leadership positions, will lead the Virtual Instruments professional services and post-sales customer support organizations. In his role, he will focus on providing superior customer satisfaction and accelerating the successful deployment of Virtual Instruments award-winning NetWisdom and VirtualWisdom products.

Barker will lead the Virtual Instruments Professional Services organization, which includes all post-sale customer services. He will provide leadership and strategic direction to all Virtual Instruments' services, including our recently announced SOS-4-SANs service, in addition to our QuickStart Service, SAN HealthCheck Service, and Virtual Infrastructure Optimization Service. The services division of Virtual Instruments is focused on delivering the highest customer satisfaction in the industry and ensuring that services needs of large enterprises across the globe are met.

Prior to joining Virtual Instruments, Barker served as Area Technology Consulting Director of EMC Global Services, managing global and enterprise technology and engineering teams. Barker also directed North American service operations for the telecommunications vertical and managed the teams responsible for managing total customer experience and satisfaction programs. Before joining EMC, Barker led product management efforts for the PeopleSoft Financial applications, prior to their acquisition by Oracle. Throughout his career, Barker has gained deep experience in the storage, storage area network (SAN) and software markets across multiple industry segments. Barker earned both his master and bachelor degrees in public administration from California State University.
