"DPTR shares were boosted last week after the Company announced a deal to sell a stake of its Vega Area assets in western Colorado's Piceance Basin - known to be home to some of the country's largest oil shale deposits. The Company agreed to sell its 37.5% interest in its Vega Area assets to Opon International for $400 million, which is 4% higher than its total market capitalization of $385 million at market close on the prior day. The Company had said late last year that it was looking at strategic initiatives to enhance shareholder value ...
"DPTR said it plans to use $225 million to develop the Vega Area over the next three years. The remainder of funds will go toward improving its balance sheet, as well as for general working capital purposes. In addition, the Company agreed to issue to Opon at closing, warrants to purchase 13.3 million shares of Delta common stock at $1.50 per share and 5.7 million shares at $3.50 per share."
