HOUSTON, June 11, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Memorial Hermann Healthcare System recently announced the appointment of Paul O'Sullivan as CEO of the Memorial Hermann Heart and Vascular Institute – Texas Medical Center. O'Sullivan will assume the position on June 14.

O'Sullivan brings with him more than two decades of experience in healthcare. He began his career with the Department of Health in Ireland working in hospital facility and service line development. For the past 10 years, he has served in a range of leadership roles in hospitals throughout the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System. Most recently, O'Sullivan served as the Chief Operating Officer for Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital. His leadership played an instrumental role in helping Memorial Hermann Katy achieve recognition from Thomson Reuters in its annual 100 Top Hospitals® National Benchmarks study.

O'Sullivan is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves as an Adjunct Professor in Management at the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from the Whittaker School of Government at the Institute of Public Administration in Ireland, and he received a Master of Science from the University of Dublin, Trinity College.
