(NYSE:ENH), a Bermuda-based specialty provider of property and casualty insurance and reinsurance, today announced that Gene Mason has joined the company as Senior Vice President and Head of Professional Lines for their U.S. wholesale insurance operations. Mr. Mason has more than twenty years of experience in the industry, having worked as both an underwriter and broker in the professional liability insurance field with a focus on errors and omissions (E&O) products. He will be based in Endurance's Stamford office and will have responsibility for Endurance's U.S. middle market professional liability practice which offers specialized miscellaneous E&O coverages for insurance agents and brokers, real estate services, consulting, technology and media clients as well as traditional classes.

Mr. Mason was most recently with Facultative Resources Inc., a W.R. Berkley Company, where he built their professional liability facultative reinsurance operation with a focus on errors and omissions products. Prior to that, he held a number of senior underwriting positions with a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Company, GE Employers Reinsurance Corporation, Great American Insurance Company and American International Group, Inc. as well as serving as a Senior Broker in Willis Re's Professional Liability Group. Mr. Mason holds both an Executive MBA and a B.A. in Government and Politics from St. John's University and has been an active contributor at PLUS and other industry conferences.
