Comverse Deploys First Joint Voicemail System for Wireline & Mobile Networks in Belize

Subscribers to Access Voicemail Over Multiple Devices; Telemedia Expands Promotions to SMS, MMS and WAP

WAKEFIELD, Mass., July 14, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Belize Telemedia Limited (Telemedia), Belize's leading telecom provider and only multi-play carrier, is getting ready to launch the nation's first joint voicemail system, powered by Comverse. This new voicemail system for both wireline and mobile subscribers will replace two legacy systems.

The Comverse HUB Next Generation Voicemail solution will allow subscribers to get their home, work and mobile voicemail in a single inbox, accessible over any interface, such as their mobile handset or Web portal. The service also will allow Telemedia's subscribers to have voicemail messages converted to email and forwarded to their email accounts.

With the Comverse Web Personal Manager, subscribers will be able to personalize their Next Generation Voicemail experience and perform other self-service functions. For example, they will be able to create distribution lists and intuitively forward, store or respond to any message using any device.

The Comverse solution also will provide customers the option of using a Fax Call Answering Feature. The system will automatically detect a fax signal when the subscriber is receiving a fax, and the fax message will be received and stored in their mailbox. The customer then will be able to print this fax message by accessing their mailbox or a fax machine.

By deploying the Comverse Messaging Gateway, Telemedia also will be able to run attractive product and content campaigns over multiple mobile channels, such as SMS, MMS and WAP Push. Integrating external content providers and services with the mobile messaging environment will allow subscribers to be the first in Belize to enjoy new kinds of content, promotions, and social networking applications.

"Telemedia is focused on providing a high standard of service with a rewarding customer experience. We believe that these creative new products and services being offered by Comverse will help us in achieving that goal," said Telemedia's Chief Operations Officer Karen Bevans.

"It is a pleasure to work with this exceptionally innovative and dynamic multi-play carrier with its unique mix of savvy subscribers," said Dror Bin, President of Global Sales at Comverse, the world's leading supplier of software and systems enabling value-added messaging and content services, converged billing and active customer management, and IP communications.

"Telemedia is well positioned for now and the future with Comverse HUB products and services that support each other to strengthen and enrich the service offering, rapidly launch new services and minimize costs to deliver maximum business results," Bin said.
