Keller Rohrback L.L.P. Announces Investigation of Possible Contamination and/or Mislabeling of Protein Drinks and Powders

SEATTLE, July 15, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Attorney Advertising. Keller Rohrback L.L.P. (www.krclassaction.com) announces that it is investigating the possible contamination and/or mislabeling of certain protein drinks and powders manufactured by Abbott Laboratories (NYSE:ABT) and CytoSport. Recent testing indicates that consumers drinking the following beverages may be exposed to elevated levels of the heavy metals arsenic, cadmium, and/or lead:

  • EAS Myoplex Original Rich Dark Chocolate Shake;
  • Muscle Milk Chocolate Powder; and
  • Muscle Milk Vanilla Creme.

Even low exposures to heavy metals can be dangerous. Among the dangers are the development of diabetes, cancer and vascular disease caused by arsenic exposure; a weakened immune system, links to prostate cancer and reproductive toxins caused by cadmium exposure; and hypertension, reproductive toxicity and developmental effects, caused by lead poisoning.
