Keynote Speakers at Infinity Publishing's 2010 Authors' Conference to Explore Exciting Future of Book Publishing in Digital Age

Dan Poynter and Marc Schulman to Speak About Emerging Opportunities for Traditional and Self Published Authors in an Industry Buzzing Over the Rise of eBooks and Other Digital Technologies

WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, PA--(Marketwire - August 10, 2010) -  Infinity Publishing, a pioneer in author-originated book publishing, today announced the keynote speakers for its much-anticipated 11th annual Authors' Conference, set for the weekend of September 24-26, 2010.

According to John F. Harnish, Infinity's vice president of author services and the conference director, Dan Poynter and Marc Schulman will deliver the keynote addresses at the conference. Both speakers are innovative authors and book publishing experts. The goal of their presentations will be to help conference participants navigate the abundant opportunities in the brave new world of book publishing, where content is king and the author controls the content.

Infinity Publishing's "Gathering of Authors" will take place at the Radisson Hotel in Valley Forge, Penn., directly across from the famous Valley Forge National Park and approximately 30 minutes from the Philadelphia International Airport. Full registration is $695, and includes meals, two nights' lodging at the Radisson, and all conference activities. For complete conference details and to register for the event, please go to www.authorsconference.com.

"The author's original content has always been what makes the publishing world go round, but what can be done with that content is now creating all sorts of exciting opportunities for authors," said Arthur Gutch, chief executive officer of Infinity Publishing. "Dan and Marc dove into these waters head-first and have both experienced great success as authors in control of their own content. They will explain how other authors will be able to benefit financially from these turbulent times in the new world of book publishing."

In his presentation at the Friday evening banquet, Poynter will foretell more about the evolving book publishing model and the effects of the dynamic changes sweeping the book publishing industry. Poynter is the author of more than 100 books, an internationally acclaimed expert on the publishing industry, and travels around the world for speaking engagements, advocating the need for aspiring writers to get the book inside them written and published.

In his keynote address at the closing night banquet, Schulman will address both sides of the content issue -- author/publisher vs. distributor/bookseller -- with specific focus on how authors can benefit during these changing times as more book purchases take place on the Internet for both print books and eBooks. Schulman was one of the first authors to incorporate multimedia into the CD releases of his books and has developed dozens of application downloads (apps) for handheld electronic devices such as the iPad and iPhone.

Infinity's Authors' Conference is open to all authors, regardless of how or with whom they have published their books, as well as aspiring writers who are striving to learn more about how to publish their own works. The event will feature presentations from noted industry professionals and a variety of dynamic discussions on timely publishing topics, such as common book promotion challenges and how to leverage the power of social media to increase book sales.

Both of the keynoters, along with all of the conference presenters, will be available throughout the weekend at the Radisson to meet with and talk informally with all of the conference participants.
