NORTHBROOK, Ill., Oct. 19, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Digital Check (www.digitalcheck.com), a provider of desktop check scanners and remote deposit capture technology to the financial industry, announced the first shipments and installations of the TellerScan® TS240/TTP (teller transaction printer), a thermal transaction printer designed to sit under the TS240 check scanner for bank teller counters and merchant environments where receipt printing is needed and counter space is limited. The TellerScan® TS240/TTP was first announced in June of 2010.
The device combines Digital Check's reliable, 5th generation TS240 batch-fed scanner, which scans at 50, 75 or 100 documents per minute, with CognitiveTPG's fast and reliable A799 thermal printer. Digital Check has deployed over a quarter of a million scanners worldwide and CognitiveTPG has over a million installations of its receipt and label printers worldwide. The combined development effort grew in response to ongoing feedback from the teller market over the need for enhanced scanning, printing and space savings.
The benefit of the TS240/TTP is that it saves up to 50% of valuable teller counter space and significantly lowers consumables expenses by eliminating cut sheet paper and expensive inkjet cartridges. The savings can easily be up to $100 per printer each year. The TS240/TTP will also allow financial institutions to print bank branding, check images, and even variable marketing promotional and loyalty messages on each receipt independent of the teller application. The thermal printer can print check images from the customer's deposit, similar to the types of transaction receipts customers are receiving from image ATMs with the latest teller platform software.
