King & Spalding Advises Houston Astros on New Regional Sports Network


HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - November 2, 2010) - King & Spalding advised professional baseball team Houston Astros in an agreement with Comcast, the nation's largest cable provider, to launch a new Houston regional sports network that will air Astros games beginning in 2013 and professional basketball team Houston Rockets games beginning in the fall of 2012.

The two teams, which have been television partners since 2003, along with Comcast will jointly own the new network, to be called Comcast SportsNet Houston.

The teams informed Fox Sports Houston of their plans to terminate their agreements with the network at the end of the 2011-12 National Basketball Association season and 2012 Major League Baseball season.
