The commemoration will kick off next month with a Silicon Valley reception to honor individuals who have helped grow the company and the industry, followed by key celebrations at major industry events across the nation throughout the anniversary year.
Founded in February, 2001 as Akeena Solar -- with the goal of installing solar on homes and businesses across America -- Akeena quickly grew to become one of America's largest solar installers, serving customers directly in the west, central and eastern regions of the U.S.
In 2007, based on the company's rooftop solar installation experience, Akeena introduced the world's first fully integrated solar panel.
