MINOT, N.D., June 7, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Investors Real Estate Trust (Nasdaq:IRET) (Nasdaq:IRETP) is pleased to announce the promotion of Andy Martin to Senior Vice President of Residential Property Management. As a member of senior management, Mr. Martin will continue to play a key role in overseeing the management of IRET's multi-family residential portfolio, as well as participate in identifying additional acquisition and development opportunities for the company in its multi-family residential segment. He is based at the company's regional property management office located in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
Mr. Martin joined the company in 2010 to lead Investors Real Estate Trust's (IRET) Residential Property Management division. He has over 17 years of experience in the commercial and multi-family property management industry. Prior to his employment with IRET, he was a partner with INH Companies based in St. Cloud, Minnesota and also worked in Minneapolis, Minnesota for United Properties as a Regional Property Manager.
Mr. Martin holds a Bachelors Degree in Real Estate and a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from St. Cloud State University. He has earned the designation of Certified Property Manager (CPM) from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).
He has served as a board member of the Greater Minnesota Coalition for the Building Managers and Owner's Association (BOMA) and he is also a member of IREM, Minnesota-Dakotas CCIM Chapter and the Minnesota Multi Housing Association (MHA).
