Revolutions Medical's RevVac Safety Syringe is Cleared by United States Department of Defense Logistics Agency for Inclusion in Medical Supply Catalog

CHARLESTON, S.C., July 8, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Revolutions Medical Corporation ("Revolutions Medical" or the "Company") (OTCQB:RMCP) is pleased to announce that the Company has been cleared by The United States Department of Defense Logistics Agency ("DLA") to offer our RevVac auto retractable vacuum safety syringe to all branches of the United States military and most federal agencies anywhere in the world. The RevVac safety syringe is now available in the medical supply chain, and customers can easily order online or directly from the Company. Revolutions Medical can now do its part to help stop the spread of HIV/AIDS and other blood borne diseases by helping to eliminate accidental needle sticks and the reuse of contaminated needles.

Ron Wheet, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Revolutions Medical, states, "I feel our men and women in our armed forces should be the first to take advantage of our RevVac safety syringe technology. It is our intention to help eliminate the testing, expense, anxiety, and possible fatality that may accompany accidental needle stick injuries. I know our inclusion in the DLA catalog is an important step towards this goal."

In July 2010,  the Company received confirmation that its grant proposal to The United States Department of Defense had been approved. This grant proposal was in response to a Broad Agency Announcement requesting creative proposals to help stop the spread of HIV/AIDS among health care workers in foreign militaries that were participating in the United States sponsored program. There are about 80 foreign militaries participating. The proposal was a demonstration project to prove that the Company could  help eliminate accidental needle sticks among healthcare workers using the new RevVac safety syringe. At each level of evaluation, the personnel continued to be impressed. After being given notice that the Company was to receive the award, a Special Point of Contact (SPOC) was assigned to help with our project. The SPOC was one of the more prominent Epidemiologists in the world, having been published over 75 times. The countries chosen for this demonstration were India, Vietnam, Uganda and Botswana. The grant was supposed to be funded by September 30, 2010, the end of the Federal government's 2009 fiscal year, but there was some confusion with the grant department and the project went unfunded for that fiscal year.

As most people know, the 2010 federal budget was not passed until recently this year, and the Company has learned that there isn't any available grant money for our project under this program in this year's budget. After attending defense conferences and meetings with private audiences in the defense industry, the Company is now in the process of approaching these foreign militaries directly on the benefits of the RevVac safety syringe without the need for grant assistance under this program.
