Comtech Telecommunications Corp. Announces a $4.6 Million Order to Support the U.S. Army's MTS Program


MELVILLE, N.Y., July 15, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq:CMTL) announced today that its Maryland-based subsidiary, Comtech Mobile Datacom Corporation, received an initial funded order totaling $4.6 million to support the U.S. Army's Movement Tracking System Program. This order was placed under Comtech's existing $384.0 million BFT-1 contract and represents the first order released by the Blue Force Tracking Program Office to support the MTS program which has now been consolidated under its direction. Comtech previously supported the MTS program pursuant to a separate $899.1 million contract which expired on July 12, 2011.

This order provides partial funding for the continued supply of satellite bandwidth, satellite network operations, engineering services, and program management support for the period of July 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011. Comtech anticipates that the value of this order will increase based on final negotiations with the U.S. Army. Total orders received to-date under the $384.0 million BFT-1 contract are $343.9 million.
