Comtech Telecommunications Corp. Awarded $1.8 Million Contract for High-Power Tri-Band Amplifiers


MELVILLE, N.Y., Sept. 1, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq:CMTL) announced today that its Santa Clara, California-based subsidiary, Comtech Xicom Technology, Inc. has been awarded a $1.8 million contract from a major system integrator to supply high-power tri-band amplifiers and controllers for spares used in their lightweight, multi-band tactical satellite communications (SATCOM) terminals.

The Comtech Xicom tri-band amplifiers can transmit signals using three different SATCOM bands, enabling users the flexibility to operate worldwide on either military or commercial spacecraft. The amplifiers are designed to transmit high-power digital carriers while meeting stringent linearity performance requirements. The terminals are lightweight, modular, and transportable for rapid deployment in-theater.

The Comtech Xicom tri-band amplifiers and controllers are ruggedized to cope with the rigorous transportation and deployment environments and have proven to be a reliable mainstay of tactical satellite communications.
